At MHIA Insurance, we’re committed to supporting land lease communities by regularly visiting villages across Australia. We engage with village residents to ensure we're always aware of their needs. Recently, we took a road trip to visit various land lease communities in Queensland, connecting with residents and learning about their experiences.
Queensland is home to many vibrant home estates, and this trip took us to 32 communities, from new gated developments to well-established land lease villages. Each has its own unique charm, and we’re proud to support the amazing residents who trust us with their insurance needs.
A significant trend we noticed during our journey was the rapid growth of land lease villages in sunny Queensland. Some communities like Riverbend Hervey Bay and Lakeview Springs Lifestyle Village are still in their early stages of development but in others like Hervey Bay, Bundaberg, and Bargara construction was well under way. Many of these estates have plans for expansion with new homes in the coming years so if you're considering a retirement in a warmer climate, these developments might offer the perfect opportunity for you.
Whether you're living in an established community or planning to move into a new one, you’ll find our brochures and community sponsorship information readily available in sales offices or event halls.
While MHIA Insurance covers a wide range of land lease communities in Queensland, a few stood out during this trip. Ingenia Lifestyle Drift, Thyme Lifestyle Resort, Ingenia Lifestyle Hervey Bay, and Palm Lake Resort Bargara not only offered beautiful estates but also welcomed us with open arms, proudly displaying our brochures and posters in their community areas.
During our visits, we had the pleasure of talking to many residents, some of whom aren’t yet insured with MHIA. What became clear is that every homeowner has unique needs when choosing insurance—whether they’re looking for low premiums, excellent customer service, or specific coverage options.
We’re committed to offering specialised insurance solutions for land lease homes, cabins, and onsite caravans. With value-packed premiums and exceptional customer service, we strive to deliver comprehensive coverage tailored to the needs of land lease residents.
Out on the road, things don’t always go as planned, but being adaptable often leads to success. In smaller communities like Willow Village Residential Park, we were able to have face-to-face conversations with residents, gaining valuable insights into what they expect from their home and contents insurance. These interactions help us refine our products and ensure we continue meeting the needs of our customers.
Queensland’s land lease community scene is rapidly expanding, and developments like Halcyon Dales in Beerwah and Halcyon Cove in Banta showcase the growing interest in these communities. Both villages are still in the early stages of development, with groundwork well under way. For those considering a comfortable retirement, these villages offer exciting opportunities.
In addition, regions like Bargara and Burnett Heads are poised for significant growth, with communities such as Palm Lake Resort, Ingenia Drift, and RV Lifestyle Village Oceanside planning to add more than 680 homes in the coming years. If you’re looking for a tree or sea change, these expanding estates may be the ideal fit for your retirement.
Whether you’re already settled in a land lease community, have purchased a home in a developing village, or are considering a land lease estate for your retirement, Queensland’s villages are growing fast. At MHIA Insurance, we’re here to ensure that as these communities evolve, you have access to tailored insurance coverage that meets your needs. We look forward to continuing our visits and staying connected with you, wherever your lifestyle takes you.
