This October, MHIA's travel across New South Wales and Queensland, visiting retirement communities and lifestyle villages to connect with residents and showcase our specialized manufactured home insurance services. These visits play a crucial role in building relationships with home owners living in over 55 communities, and active retirees, ensuring MHIA remains the top choice for insurance in the land lease community landscape. Here are some key highlights from this month’s visits:

Building Positive Partnerships

We received a warm welcome at Pine Ridge Caravan Village and Settlers Village, both established communities favoured by over 55s. Park managers enthusiastically supported our efforts to promote MHIA’s over 50s home insurance. Both communities have strong ties with MHIA, reinforcing the trust we’ve built within the downsizer, rightsizer and retirement living community.

  • At Settlers Village we had an excellent talk with the park manager who noted that MHIA has a strong reputation among senior homeowners in their park.
  • Paradise Lake Resort, another popular spot for 55+ lifestyle living, followed suit, with the owner commenting on our visibility among residents seeking affordable home insurance options.

Expanding Into New Communities

The trip extended to emerging 55+ communities like GemLife Tweed Waters and GemLife Gold Coast, both rapidly growing among baby boomers and empty nesters seeking low-maintenance homes. Early engagement with these communities is already proving helpful to home owners:

  • At GemLife Tweed Waters, MHIA insures over 40 home owners, marking a promising start in building strong relationships within this over 50s retirement village.
  • During our visit to Thyme Lifestyle Resort in Canungra, our representative reconnected with a sales manager who had prior experience with MHIA. This familiarity ensured our introduction to this retirement community went smoothly and that insurance solutions for seniors are readily available as new residents move in.

Overcoming Challenges and Seizing Opportunities

It’s not all easy riding out on the open road. Traffic delays and roadworks impacted travel time, but our representative demonstrated unwavering commitment, ensuring that even the most remote over 55 caravan parks and lifestyle villages were reached.

We learned that homeowners at Riverbend Ballina are experiencing some difficulties due to council regulations that may be impacting the development of their community. It seems that even straightforward developments are facing hurdles, as exemplified by a nearby project where the council's requirement for extensive green space due to the presence of fog has significantly impacted the development's progress.

While MHIA focuses on providing excellent insurance coverage and doesn't have any influence over these local regulations, we understand the importance of staying informed about such situations to better serve the needs of land lease communities.

Looking Ahead: MHIA’s Commitment to Over 55 Communities

Our community visits go beyond distributing brochures. They’re about building long-term relationships, listening to residents' concerns, and ensuring that downsizers and active retirees feel confident in their insurance coverage.

October’s travels affirmed the value of these in-person visits, with overwhelmingly positive feedback from park managers and residents alike. Moving forward, MHIA will continue to prioritize community engagement, especially in over 55s lifestyle resorts, further strengthening our position as the most trusted insurance provider in the manufactured home market.

With 45 villages and caravan parks visited across two states this month alone, MHIA’s dedication to supporting over 50s communities is clear. As we continue to stay connected, we reaffirm our commitment to providing exceptional service and fostering long-lasting partnerships with retirement homeowners across New South Wales and Queensland.
